Light of Faith

~ Light of Faith ~

The early snow had been slushy
   Afternoon turned it mushy
Then at night, down the temp goes
   and all that mush froze

Car doors wouldn't open
   which set commuters to groping
for alternative routes
   while some let out shouts

of despair and depression
   For they had the impression
that winter had arrived
   and buried Autumn's colors alive...

But as I looked up, the sun greeted me
with bright light and warm rays, so cheerfully
that I burst into smiles, my heart leaped for joy
~ The day'd turned out fine for this doubting old boy

November first was cold and snowy many places. The sun is something I looked for also, for a good reason!

Great idea, Sandra, about a fast-forward button for Spring. I had such a button once, but it broke down as soon as it got to 'first snow of winter!' LOL.

Chris, your kind words warm me long after the sun's rays have drifted off into the night. Thank you so much for the encouragement, my friend. Cheers, Gershon (Soup mail, please).
