Light In a Quiet Room
Cable news all morning,
Sailor take warning.
Cable news all night,
Sailor take fright.
When voices threaten menace,
Spreading rumors in the gloom,
I ease those bleak acoustics
With light in a quiet room.
Cable news and coffee,
Sailor go awfully.
Cable news and wine,
Sailor go blind.
When worry hints at panic,
As all chaos is abloom,
I quell the insurrection
With light in a quiet room.
Cable news on always,
Sailors’ malaise.
Cable news on mute,
Sailors salute.
When demons peddle darkness,
Screeching prophecies of doom,
I counteract the racket
With light in a quiet room.
