Light, Fire and Peace

near the
"scene" of the crime"
     we begin to feel
as
if
we
were
       lying in a dream
world
      reality came
in
    the vision we
once hoped for
    left us in a
different - more dangerous
     position
than we had anticipated
somewhere near paradise
         our eyes began
to open
 the world
    works things the way
it must
we taste the fires of peace
which we had hoped for
    after the killing
was done
   and the hope diminished

And these things are also very much in our hands. Things will change for the better, if we change to make things better. It will take a revolution within to overcome reality and make our dreams come true. Thanks for sharing a thought provoking write, Matthew! Interesting layout as well. And thanks for your comments on my latest. Love, Caroline.

A very deep write, Matthew. I wish we didn't have to wait until "after the killing" to taste the "fires of peace." I am taking this more in a personal sense than in regard to military battle. Awesome poem! Love, Carolyn
