Light - Captured

A small pool of water
   left behind by the rain
reflects the light
                           of a streetlamp
   the thin veil
 which protects us
                  is torn apart
   but for a moment
we'll view the reflections
        near our fragile selves
Dancers on thin ice
        we'll glice for a time
    before the freeze sets in
As we view the reflected light
    something in our hearts
tells us that we are going
      on a long journey
            into the new
    and as yet unseen
 moving into
               the unknown
    leaving behind
only shards of memory
        leaving behind
our visions
                   and loves
   as we
move towards dawn
        the night a passing memory
smoke rising on the horizon
              makes us realize
we're a part of something
                larger than we know
