Life's Treasure
Life's Treasure
I had a little treasure,
I lost it in the sea.
I placed my sorrow in a box,
still I walked the beach.
I searched the clouds for picture shapes.
I talked with seagulls white.
I wandered without treasure,
Gathering seashells in my plight.
As I sifted through the sand
and gleaned along the rocks,
wrapped in seaweed like a bow,
was my little treasure box.
Where have you been my treasure,
waves swept you out to sea.
I prayed that maybe once again
Your return would be to me.
