Life's Journey

A family of petals wrapped up as a flower Gathered together as one, none alone. Each of them move in the wind with no bother, Clinging to the center, calling it their home. They wave in the breeze collecting their food, Enjoying the warmth and light from the giving sun. Each of them seems to be in a different mood. While some petals watch, others are having fun. As the day come to an end, and night draws near, They huddle together through the dark and pray. Two of the petals are now nervous with fear, Wondering how many of their young will blow away. They hope they have taught them how to live, Passing on the values of right and wrong. As the wind blows stronger, their hold begins to give. The two petals watch as the others float along. They glide through the air in a world so vast That leads them each on a journey of their own. They use what they have learned from years past To find a good place where their seeds can be sown. A new family of petals wrapped up as a flower Gathered together as one, none alone. Each of them move in the wind with no bother, Clinging to the center, calling it their home.
