Life Was So Simple Then

Life was just so simple then.
A long time ago, way back when.
Being excited to have a sleep over.
During recess playing red rover.

Letting your mind go, being carefree.
Trying to build that house in the tree.
Going with your friends to explore the woods.
Running to the corner store, for your candy goods.

Everything was different back there.
It was so much easier to breathe in the air.
A time when the grass was so much greener.
Best friends with a good demeanor.

Going to the diamond and hitting the baseball.
Back then the world was ours because it was small.
Seeing pictures, with our arms around one another.
That picture captured a memory of my friends, my brothers.

Those were the days when we didn't have to worry.
We thought we'd stay young forever, so no hurry.
Looking back at these moments frozen in time.
These memories are indescribable, they can't be rhymed
