Life To Death

Gazing out your window in contemplation of life mystified Do you ever wonder to whom the call, to be your final guide So obvious our death seems after our given life Do you look up to endless sky in times of triumphs or turbulence Know that your days are formed of absolute impermanence So obvious our death awaits upon our remained life Do you hang on to what you have with all your meager might Or let go into the void without facing much of the anguished fight So obvious our death comes after our sacrifice written: May 28-2020 Triple Stanza Couplet Tail-Rhyme Poetry Contest

You chose a deep topic that I see people write about more and more these days. Great job with this tail rhyme. can't wait to try one too.

thank you Andrea. I don't think I would have written of life and death yet it is all around us with Covid-19...yet with the prompt in the contest it got me to thinking. It is a deep subject that there is not getting around...with life comes death.

This is really deep and thought provoking Jeanne. I love the way you have described the arrival of death in the last lines of each stanza. Best wishes for the Contest :)

I love that we have these contests that make us things we might not otherwise...and learning new forms. I am not sure why I have never done a tail-rhyme before, :D

"Do you hang on to what you have with all your meager might" - I really like this line and this poem.
