Life of a Child
I remember a time,
when life was pure,
full of innocence,
not a care in the world.
Nothing really mattered,
no responsibility at all,
everything taken care of,
this was a wonderful world.
A life full of happiness,
endless joy,
everything was an adventure,
we could conquer the world.
My future was certain,
I knew what I wanted to be,
the world was my oyster,
nothing was going to stop me.
Then years flashed by,
everything changed,
responsibilities of life took over,
that child no longer remained.
I think back to that time,
as brief as it was,
I'll never feel that way again,
the care free life of a child.
