Life Is So Precious and For It One Must Fight

Life Is So Precious And For It One Must Fight

When heart has been crushed, sorrow is all one knows
Pain becomes crushing, world delivers constant blows
Even dawn its glory, wavers and fails to shine
Grapes are withered, falling from a dying vine
Soul looks to Heaven, begs fervently for release
Even in ones sleep at night found is no sought peace
Lost into a darkened wilderness- alone
Searching for answers and away all hope has flown
There in the distance a bright beacon sends its note
Love saves the drowning, as once, an old poet wrote.

When seeking, always look towards the waiting light.
Life is so precious and for it one must fight.

Your poem touched my heart, Robert. It's very true - life is a gift, and we have to fight for it. Your last line is a classic expression.

Robert, I like that saying....’an Angel tapped her on the shoulder, and told her, it was time to come home!” Who could refuse God. He had plans for her,,of which we know not. And one day, our turm shall come, too. Indeed, a fave! Hugs, Panagiota

Thank you, my friend. Yes, I believe God had plans fior her and took her swiftly so she would not suffer weeks of pain and heartache, as did my oldest brother two weeks before.. God bless..

Robert I read this heartfelt piece and it touched my inner emotions. I lost my dad in Sept of2021, and three best friends in 2022. Life is precious and we must fight for it... Love is a great healer... God bless you Robert and give you peace. A favorite for me...
