Life Is Poetry
Many people tend to think
that poetry is just a written form of art
they think that poets are just simply romantic folks
with sweet love songs flowing in their hearts.
However, I who happen to be a poet
am inclined to disagree
for in my opinion, Ti's not just art
because all of life is poetry.
I happen to see poetry in every walk of life
whether it be a happy or sad occasion
I am just one who can write it all down
for I am blessed with an active imagination.
I see poetry in a man lying in bed
dying soon from years of bad health
I see poetry in a teenager's first kiss
or when an infant takes it's first breath.
When a woman and her children are hungry and poor
or somewhere some poor lad's heart is breaking
all that you see are the simple facts of life
while I am looking at poetry in the making.
There is a sad soul somewhere being disappointed
there is a child at circus seeing it's first clown
I tell you that there is poetry on every corner of this world
and there is a poet somewhere writing it all down.
There is poetry in every syllable of our laughter
there is poetry in every tear that we cry
there is poetry each time that a baby is born
and there is poetry whenever we die.
I do not believe that poetry is a way of life
as someone once said to me
poetry is just words and can not be life
however, I believe that life is poetry.
