Life Is Hard...

Life is hard
money is tight
I close my eyes and hide
defeated
illness, sadness, death all around
depression, separation, ugliness, truth
parents getting older,
uncertainty most certain
dont grab those if onlys, we will weaken
and we haven't much left

such a dream we had to retire
in comfort
now its gone
what will we do.....

These are hard times for many of us, Zera. The Lost American Dream would make a great theme for a contest. I'm sure there are many, including me, who can relate to the angst in this heartfelt poem. Love, Carolyn

Oh, ZEra, are you a casualty of 2008? I know some had much worse luck than others. This is very good and it seems to be a heartfelt write. LUv, Andrea ps thanks for adding your comment to my blog. Yes, Ferguson is great fun to watch!
