Life Is Ever Changing

Life is not a game that should ever be left to chance. Days are to be lived joyously; nights filled with dance. The world should not be war-torn until nothing is left by would-be kings playing games, leaving us bereft. We should never be separated; black versus white. People are not pawns who would rather not fight. There is room enough for everyone but how can it be if lives are easily sacrificed when greedy kings disagree? Oh, what shame when power rules the lives of many! Riches for nobility when commoners have nary a penny. Life is not supposed to be continuous battles fought. Don't ken the color of my skin. Look inside my heart. Stubborn are those who pretend that life is but a game, making mistakes but always pointing a finger of blame. Causing misery for others, too much heartache and pain. Foolish ones who seek more wealth and material gain. Life is complicated when heavy burdens we must bear. We would all be happier if only we learned to share. No one wants to be the loser, and hear, "Checkmate!" Life is not a game. Don't give power to those who hate. Life is a beautiful gift, offered to us by the One true King We should find something new each day that's inspiring. Life changes like seasons in which Mother Nature thrives. If we must make a game of it, let the prize be better lives. June 29, 2022 Life Is Poetry Contest Sponsor: Nayda Flores

Life is a beautiful gift, Jenna, and we should treat it with the greatest of respect. The King gave us His heart and His life, we should offer Him ours, nicely penned, winning wishes on Wingly Doves !

Therein lies the problem, Rose. A lack of respect only serves the purpose the incite greed and jealousy. Thank you very much for reading and commenting.

It’s a damn shame the abuse of power Jenna, it really only works by the divide and conquer game, as this truthful poem alludes to, peoples lives and rights mean nothing to the privileged few, your last line is a vision of how life should be, with perhaps an acceptance that it may never come to fruition, great poem all the best for contest, cheers David

Thank you very much for such wonderful remarks, David. If only we could all have a glimpse of how life could be if no one felt they deserved more than their neighbor.

In my travels around the world, I continue to wonder why people choose to live on top of each other when there are so many wonderful places to live in the country. Perhaps too many people believe the countryside is the perfect place to plant landmines? Enjoyed, Jenna!

What is stopping you? There are empty log cabins, acres of wildlife, and - in most States, 2-3 months to prepare for winter! Aloha!

Thank you, Rico. I've always wanted a log cabin in the woods surrounded by a hundred acres of wildlife, and I don't mean people. lol

Ah, Jenna, another lovely poem, so well-written, so expressive, so right-on-target for the contest, too. Wishing you the best, my friend. I loved your analogy of life with chess. Very appropriate.

Hi Edward. I'm not so sure Nayda wanted a poem with any negative vibes, but such is life. Thank you for your encouragement.
