Life Is a Beautiful Gift
My goal in life is to be like Betty White.
Funny, beautiful yet so intelligently bright.
I love to laugh when she speaks of her age.
Reading her book,makes it hard to turn the page.
Today was my Birthday and it really felt great.
I use to worry about the number but now its a special date.
I celebrate in many ways, a wish list in my hand.
Today I played music and listened to my favorite band.
A meal was made, seen my kids to.
My husband ordered out, there was nothing for me to do.
But to sit relax and talk with those I love with my heart.
I've missed them so much, its been hard to be apart.
My Birthday became a day just to celebrate the life I have had.
Now looking forward to things we enjoy, I'm so glad.
To be healthy, to wake to the sun in the sky.
Hoping next year we will be ready to fly.
To see places we have never been before.
To go to PEI and go knocking on my friends door.
Next stop would be a really warm place.
Book in hand, you will never see my face.
Look forward for the days to come.
Embracing all or even some.
Life is a beautiful gift, take one step at a time.
Just like writing this poem, I do my best to rhyme.
