Life Is

Life is...

Life is your first cry that makes your mom and dad smile
it is the sleepless nights they will have to spend for a while 
it’s the excitement they feel when you first say a word 
And your first step, your second and your third 

It’s the fear in your heart when you take a step of your own 
knowing moving forward, you will soon face the unknown 
it’s the courage you pull out of your innermost heart 
it’s the hope towards a brand new start 

it’s the tears you shed for your broken dreams 
it’s the grudge you hold for all the worlds schemes 
But it’s also the love and kindness you choose to show 
it’s your resiliency to bounce back from below

Life is the smile you give to a stranger
And how giddy you are when you try to pursue her
it’s when you decide to bind two hearts as one
it’s the story you want to tell your daughter and your son 

Life is grieving for what’s lost and gone 
But it’s also choosing to move on
Life is praying for God’s mercy and grace
It’s your heart longing for His embrace 

Life is the choice you make day in and day out 
What you made out of it, is what it’s all about 
It’s your triumph, your victory and your failure 
It’s lifting it all up to Christ our saviour.
