Life In Verse
Broken circles, jagged edges
smiles that fade in the dead of night
Easygoing, songs and laughter
flashing eyes put the weak to flight
Smoke and mirrors, all deception
when will the dawn break new and bright?
Heart unspoken, heart gone numb now
cold and dim, just a flick’ring light.
Bony elbows, laughs melts ice caps
tongue and cheek just to pick a fight
Heart beats faster, tears or laughter
lost in my sadness and delight.
Tangled anger, threads unfurling
stumbling, falling, a sorry sight
Deep breaths, rhythm, blot eyes softly
keep a cool face with all my might
Toss for hours, I get nowhere
call them my friends and hope I’m right.
