Life In a Dream...

I wake up and get ready for work, At 3AM, my day starts early; A cup of ahwa* gives me a perk, At this time of day there’s still much to see; I’m off with my crew to Saqqara, So the dig for the day can commence; Where the Pyramid of Djoser leaves me in awe, And a newly discovered tomb has us waiting in suspense; Usually we stay there ‘til darkness does us in, And go home exhausted at the end of the day; Our days are filled from the time they begin, Laying out grids for the crew to survey; Life in Egypt is almost surreal, Living dangerous and extreme; But then I wake up and reveal, My life in Egypt is only a dream!
