Life Goes On
Darker green, even darker clouds
Misty velvet the summer shrouds
And the suns kiss a sweet au revoir
Golds and browns now sit the hour
Cooler winds and falling leaves
Stubble fields and swaying trees
The cattle's slow and heavy gait
The squirrel stores for winters fate
Arthritic joints they warn of cold
The Holly shows its berries bold
And to the frost the Robin sings
As the Ravens caw reality brings
From the north clouds will come
Merciless, and death for some
Boots and wellies at the door
Life goes on as before
