Dear Future Me,
Do you still think about her?
About what you two had?
Do you still have those dreams?
Do those dreams make you sad?
Do you still regret leaving?
Are you happy? Are you free?
Do you wish you would have stayed?
Would have stayed with her to see?
To see if things would have worked
To see if things went bad
Do you still wonder about her?
Wonder about what you had?
Are you happy? Are you married?
Are there kids in your life?
Are you content? Are you successful?
Have you made it through the strife?
Did you serve? Did you make it?
Did you save lives in the war?
Do you sit alone at night
Wondering if you could have had more?
I hope you're safe
I hope you're happy
I hope you're truly free
I hope I make it
To read this letter
I hope I make it
Then I'll see
I'll see that strife can only
Make you who you are
I'll see that life can only
