Life As It Is

Grasping, clutching onto air as we be.
Daunting, dreary thoughts I see.
Happiness, joy words that we show.
Life, love things we do not know.

Peace, tranquility is our natures simple form.
Ominous, threatening is the coming storm.
Liberty, justice things we contradict.
Time, future is something we'll try to depict.

Power, strength is what we feed on.
Jaded, immodest is how we are spawn.
Simplified, bare what we see as boring.
Nature, ourselves what we should be adoring.

Holding, squeezing onto our prized material.
Ideas, thoughts that we should be imperial.
Magnificent, beautiful is the lonely fawn.
Innocence, purity is almost forever gone.
