Life As It Goes
Hear pavement crack
from the children running smack
the alarm clocks jangling
from the cops and rudes tangling
I hear the city speak
and my heart grows weak
But this is Life
Feel the sun fall asleep
on a countryside steep
The mother sighs
with weeping eyes
I know this place
that inhabits this space
This is irreverantly Life
Drink it down in hot swigs
burn it down as the lassie dances her jigs
Swap a pint
and you just might
Feel just a little better
even though the rain makes the earth wetter
And we all enjoy this Life
