Life As a Mouse
How immense the moon
for little mouse,
who runs along the side
of little house,
who gnaws his secret way,
who eats his crumbs each day,
who toils for each buffet
for kids and spouse.
How intense, his life
upon this earth,
and it's been like this since
his very birth.
In shadows he must hide.
Of cats he's petrified.
Danger disqualified
for glimpse of mirth.
