Life and Death

I am the breath of life
I fill your lungs with air
I'm flowing like a river
Like the wind blows through your hair

I wake you in the morning
I comfort you at night
I'm the deep eternal spring
And the everlasting light

I am the kiss of death
All will feel my soft embrace
I can come to steal your breath
Anytime and anyplace

I'm waiting in the darkness
I'm hidden out of sight
I'll be there when the time comes
To pull you from the light

A most intriguing poem my friend. Death is always hiding. Waiting for that moment to pull us from the light.

Hi Jerry. Yeah, the older I get, the more I think about death. Hopefully it's in no big hurry to snuff out my light. Take care Brother Brotherton.
