Life and Death

He cherished her for all his life
His darling dear beloved wife
Sent to him from Heaven above
This fine woman for him to love
Ruby lips and ivory skin
Stirred deepest desires locked within
They had three children over time
Which helped complete their lives sublime
They prayed to God through good and bad
When they felt joy or they felt sad
God gave them strength no matter how
Their burdens seemed to drag them down
Faith in God would never waiver
He would always be their savior
Her time was near to go to Him
Her light of life fast growing dim
He held her hand and bowed his head
And kissed her as she lay in bed
With a small sweet smile she did pass
Into God’s open arms at last
