Life Among the Cracks
I see a blade of grass
Growing from a crack
In the sidewalk that I walk everyday
It isn't very tall
No, it's actually quite small
And it isn't very green if I must say
But that little blade of grass
That I see growing from the crack
Is a fine example of the will to live
'Cause it struggles to survive
Does its best to stay alive
In a world that hasn't got that much to give
So I'm careful of my feet
As I'm walking down the street
Trying not to step upon that blade of grass
'Cause it would surely be a shame
And I'd have only me to blame
If I stopped the life that lives among the cracks
