Life

Hammer and nail pick and shovel
Toil and labor oh the trouble
We work for what we don't have yet
To build a life from our sweat

We crash and burn at times in life
But rise up from the the ashes like
A newborn phoenix that can't be stopped
To do such things that can't be topped

We fail at times at things we do
But try again with a heart renewed
Sometimes we think our goals won't come
But just don't quit this race we run

When you fall down don't there remain
Dust off your threads and wash that stain
So pick yourself up off the floor
If Gods your help he'll open a door.

I enjoyed reading your poem, Charles! A lot of truth in it. Love, Kim
