Life

Life is like a tree
The seedling is the start
The roots represent its past
The sap represents its heart

The branches are like arms
To hold the ones we love
Some reach down rather low
Some to heaven up above

The bark represents the times
Whether they were good or rough
Through it all it's held on strong
And shows us it is tough

In all the storms before
This tree has held its ground
And though the wind blows fiercely
One can hear the cracking sound

It is now laid over
For no more visitors to see
Now all that's left is grass
Where there once stood a tree
