Lies, Lies, Lies

lies, lies, lies! there are lies everywhere,
creeping through shadows like ghosts! beware!
switch on the tele to see them pouring out,
news after news there are lies fat and stout!
every failure dressed up to make it look clean,
every disaster polished to a new sheen!
Stop! see the PM get out of Jaguar!
he smiles and waves as if he is a star!!
his rule in disarray like his blooming hair,
messed up big time but won’t give up his chair!
the chancellor walks like a good proud crane,
but his hole in economy is a sure drain!
of the rest of the team less said the better,
lies, lies, lies in every word and letter!
the poor old queen! she is still holding on,
eight decades of PMs, under her, have been and gone!!
lies in the papers, media too is full of lies,
buzzing around the towns like a million flies!
Brexit and Covid have screwed us all tight,
we are all too drained to put up a fight!
lies, lies lies! it now runs every show,
movies, plays, wherever you may go!
stop forwarding messages from What’s app!
facebook and twitter are full of same crap!!
clear your head of all the social nonsense,
and stop the media that is flowing dense,
take a walk through garden, or sit by a park,
spend time with friends to light the old spark!
do not cast your vote on lies they tell,
but cast it wisely so we can all live well!
lies, lies lies, there are lies everywhere,
creeping through shadows like ghosts! beware!
