Lies

You're told
 you can be yourself
You're told
 be yourself
But these are lies

They mean
you can be what you're told to be
 and what you're born into
They mean
be what others want you to be
and not to step out of the norm
If you step out
 you get criticized
 and labeled an outcast

I say no matter what
 be yourself
and stand tall with your head high

To the ones who put you down
To the ones who treat you different
 Forget them
 They don't matter anyways
