Lies

They say sticks and stones, May break my bones but words will never hurt me. Words cut deeper than sticks ever could. They say attitude gets you no where, yet the people who bicker, are the same ones, who get all that they want. They say memories last a lifetime, but really day by day they fade. And happy days seem so long ago, until you can't remember. These are the lies they tell us. The lies that we believe naive as it may be. It is easier to imagine this world that they teach us. Than the truths we really see.

ohh that last 2 lines are great, its so true... we like the security in these lies they tell us, we are afraid of the truth so we just go along... one bad religions song goes "dont have to think to survive, so nobody listens" have you heard plato's allegory of the cave? if you havent i can show you, its this idea over the security of naivety. this poem was amazing, youre really good at this stuff, build some confidence, because with these poems you definately deserve it
