Libra Knew Her Wedding Day
Twenty-two hundred days until her wedding
Libra could not believe what she was watching on TV
Say Yes to the Dress, it made her sad. So much money
For a dress that was not much prettier than her own.
She had purchases hers at a second-hand store,
and it was stunning.
Twenty-two hundred days, and she would be married.
Married to whom? People asked her. She did not mind.
She was used to being disbelieved. It was the curse of being a psychic.
She had seen her wedding day clearly in her third eye years ago.
She took out a marker and marked off another day.
Only six years, three months and twenty days to go!
Her mother stuck her head in and asked, “Still thinking wedding?”
I sure am, Libra replied. Got my dress right here. It had a sweetheart
bodice, was filled with rhinestones, sequins and pearls, and it had
a mermaid bottom. “How many more days?” Her mother queried.
“Not that many,” she replied, not wanting to disappoint her.
“Mrs. Gladys’s nephew is in town,” Her mother offered. “We could
set you up.” She smiled at her mother’s enthusiasm. “I would rather
it happened naturally, she said.
Libra met her sweet husband five and a half years later; they were
married on her long-awaited precise wedding day.
