Letting Go

Letting you go was never easy Exhausted friends trying to please me Toes freezing as I wander around Trembling body hits the ground Instincts whispering, “Go home” Neglecting thoughts to be alone Green eyed memories give me sorrow Goodbye for now until tomorrow Only time is left to borrow I saw you sleep for the first time in years At the side of your crying mother That night I drowned myself in beers Begging, take me and not my lover Living life for you Fell in love with shooting stars Souls will meet again
