Letter To My Future Self

If you’re reading this then time has yet to pass,
Yesterday was but a recent memory to borrow;
As the grains of sand still trickle through the glass.

Today’s been gray as I’ve searched for sun to bask,
I looked for meaning to cling to until the morrow;
If you’re reading this then time has yet to pass.

I pray you’re doing well and not taking to the flask,
Little joys of selflessness that stave off all the sorrow;
As the grains of sand still trickle through the glass.

Stay in the sunshine and ignore the shadows cast,
Keep dreaming dreams until your dreams are so;
If you’re reading this then time has yet to pass.

Listen to your heart and don’t dwell upon your past,
Breath every breath you can you still have far to go;
As the grains of sand still trickle through the glass.

So much I’d like to tell you but time goes by so fast,
Focus on today what you can change tomorrow;
If you’re reading this then time has yet to pass,
As the grains of sand still trickle through the glass.
