Letter To Future Soul
Dear Me who either grew or just withered
Grace from grace, faith from faith, life from holy life
I pray that God will still watch over you
I pray that you’ll be healthy in flesh, and whole
I pray that you’ll be joyful in heart too
I pray that you’ll be rejoicing in your soul
You are an absolute stranger to me
Yet we’re closer than a sibling or a wife
You have just photos of me in time’s sea
Yet we are of one spirit and single life
Remember to keep your secret promise
Remember your gentleness and calm
Remember the blessed gospel of Thomas
Remember the God-written, blessed, secret Psalm
Greet for me my father and my mother
Greet my brother and family if they live
Greet your friends whom I know, with no bother
Greet those friends whom I haven’t met yet and give
Watch that you not come to be in the body
From You who have passed away in memory
