Lets Say Grace
serve her
on a silver
platter
a strawberry
in her mouth
a cherry on
her lips
before me she
lay on a bed of
basil leaves
lavender in her
hair to sooth
and seduce
me into sleep
i asked may i
salivate gravy
on your mashed
potatoes
she simply
said sure
and laughed
not mocking but
talking giddy
and making
me feel as if
a king but
knowing
my proper place
