Let the Writer Write

If you’re a writer, write
It’s the best thing you can do
In flowing inspiration you delight
Always seek to be your best
Don’t settle for sub-par
Practice, study, practice more
Your imagination is the star
Don’t be timid; don’t be shy
Let your feelings guide the way
Paint a picture; share a song
There’s a blessing in the things you say
Write about the moon and stars
Tell about what’s up above
Let others help to show the way
And write about the things you love

Until very recently, I've never considered myself a writer. Not that I'm a pro or anything now, but I find it deeply rewarding, as if I've finally tapped into a part of me that has just been waiting to be explored. I think I've always been a writer, who just hasn't been writing anything. Great poem and advice, John. 7
