Let the Past Pass

Please let me be
Don't remind me of the past
Please let the sleeping dog lie
Let the past pass on
T'was when the sun faded in the horizon
and the waters deep froze
Ever before the morrow came on track
Before darkness loomed large in our eyes
T'was when we met like streams and rivers
Like roads and tracks
But what do we stand to gain,
what have we to show?
Please let me be
Don,t remind me of the past
Please let the past pass
