Let the Light Shine

When the birds stop singing
When the world stands still,
Then your life is nothing,
But a bitter pill.

Even though they smile at you
It is just a ruse
All they really want to do
Is use and then abuse.

Nowhere to turn to
Nowhere to run.
No-one who cares enough
To come here with a gun.

My life is often wretched
No future left for me
The path that I should follow
I only wish they’d see.

Let the light shine, shine, shine,
LET IT SHINE.
