Let the Drums Speak
Listen the drums are rumbling and the pots are bubbling
Listen, the drums are rolling and pretty girls are dancing
Listen the drums are speaking and my heart is singing
Listen the drums are beating and I am coming
Let the drums speak and lead me down the main street
The sound of the drum is directing me to the sun
The sound of the drum is pulling me to the south
The sound of the drum is pulling me where the sun goes down
The sound of the drum is leading me around
I woke up this morning in a somber mood
I felt alive but something was pulling my energy from outside
I could not remember my dreams because my spirit was not at ease
Something has entered my space and interfered with my warm embrace
I cannot tell what it was but it might be somewhere that I have been
Or the radiation emitted from the full moon before the typhoon
The full moon has disappeared leaving a nasty energy in the air
I saw it two mornings in a row with a bright orange glow
It was bigger than normal and I could sense something unusual
Something is pulling my feet so I must listen to the drums speak
Let the drums speak and minister to my heartbeat
Let the drums speak and cool down this deadly heat
Now listen to the drums speak and pull out your worksheet
You, yes I am speaking to all of you my heart is aching because of you
You who call yourselves rulers of the earth from whence did you came
You minister in his name and you curse me to shame
Listen to the drums speak and search out your heartbeat
You who call yourselves lawmakers
Why do you murder the wheat gleaners on the threshing floor?
You who told me not to commit adultery but you sleep around like a puppy
You opposed homosexuality but you rape little boys in the grave yard
You get drunk every night and drag your body by the way side
Listen to the drums speak I am turning up the heat
Hold up your head and stop pretending as if you are dead
You murder gays and imprisoned their family
You organize the mob to go from door to door and drag them to the shore
You beat and stone the people who live a different lifestyle
Now you want to be part of the global charm
When you are doing your people such dangerous harm
You are welcome but I don’t support your violent storm
Listen to the drum speak and redeem your heartbeat
You greedy leader with gluttonous followers
For centuries you have been talking
But you have done nothing to help the suffering people
You rob, kill and murder and use the people’s taxes for your supper
Do you think your office is for your brothers and sister?
You must educate your followers and treat the people better
Gather around the table and iron out a better plan for the life after
Let the drum speak its time to stand up on your own feet
You call yourselves black brothers but you are oppressing your own color
You refuse to help your neighboring partner and clean up the land
You send your army to burn and destroy their villages and issued the ban
When another race fight with another race it is a shame
But when the black race fight their own race it is a disgrace
Listen to the drum speak and open your stubborn hearts
It’s time to make a new start and this is your last chance
For centuries it has been the same talk and the same cry for help
But each time you get a helping hand you shower it on your friends and family
You get what you have asked for but is anything better?
You want to reclaim the land but do you have a backup plan to farm the land?
Who are your business connection and where are your collaterals?
Would it be better if you own all the property?
Show me a good plan and I will make you my kinsman
Remember that business is the linchpin of every country
Government doesn’t run industry
Listen to drums speak
And you what is this hullabaloo all about?
From whence did this evil come about?
You formulate laws that are outdated
You have laws that are stupid
And you make laws that are irrelevant to modern-day society.
Your people grow ignorant and dim,
Some are foolish and lack morality, all they seek is vain prosperity
When we were here things were much better
But since we left you have turn this place into a natural disaster
Fighting over land and shedding blood over your brothers dam
You were once a prosperous nation but too much blood has soaked up the land
You water the cornfield with blood and angered the gods from above
Now let’s see if we can find a common ground on which you can rebound
You must have something to put on the table before this can be enabled
Sheep, cow, grassland or motor vehicle or your sons and daughters can give a helping hand
Listen to the drums speak
Clean up the land, educate the people and get them ready for the future
so that you all can join the global marching band
Listen to drums and let your conscience speak.
