Let My Lack of a Voice Be Heard

Could it be that you're finally starting to rub off on me?
Is it you who's turned me into this fake smiling face;
this girl out of place...

[what a waste.]
Your eyes are so much kinder when viewed from a distance-
the closer you get, the more I regret my lack of resistance.

And moving on seemed like such a great plan- but plans change
when famliar words are exchanged and I find myself behind closed
doors doing things we all know I've done before; like...

losing the ability to say 'no.'
