Let Me Teach You Love

You think your life’s been hard
And nothing turns out right.
You say that love you thought was real
Often lasted just one night.
You say deceit was your reward
And you try to be so tough.
Yet, I see softness in your eyes –
So, let me teach you love.

I’ve seen hard times myself
Along some troubled roads.
And when I thought true love was mine
I saw all my dreams explode.
Now we have another chance ---
We’ve been punished long enough.
So, let’s just give it one more try –
Please let me teach you love.

Let me teach you love –
Open up your heart.
If you’ve wanted real love
Let me be its start.
You say love walked right past you
And you’re tired of being bluffed.
Please give it one more honest chance
And let me teach you love.
