[Sing to the tune of "Yesterday" by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. I based my parody on the original words the Beatles played around with, "Scrambled Eggs."]

Let me be With your troubles do not bother me I am busy, is that so hard to see, Oh please, dear…please just let me be Take a walk At my good advice you balk I have tried to tell you what to do You need someone else to listen to.... Obviously, you’ll Have your way in spite of what I say So I wish you’d let me be Obviously, you’ll Have your way, so let me be, Please let me be, e, e, Oh, let me be. written October 3, 2021 parody of John Lennon's "Yesterday" especially for "Change the Record" poetry contest sponsored by Natasha L. It is a wise person who realizes no one ever takes another's advice in the long run "Obviously, you’ll Have your way, so let me be, Please let me be, e, e, Oh, let me be. " Love this part!

I'm still wondering if this really will work with the tune. I tried to sing it, but couldn't remember all of the tune. One of my favorite Beatles songs. I should have chosen a song easier to work with like "Happy Birthday to You!"

Thanks, Christopher. I really enjoy working with parodies, although I don't often write one. They are fun.

Thanks so much, Andrea. I must admit I wanted to write my new lyric for "Let It Be," but the melody to "Yesterday" just kept coming to mind, so I went that direction with it. I used the original lyrics "Scrambled Eggs" as my guide. There is a story behind the song "Yesterday" that many do not know. Incidentally, I also wrote my first Andaree. Hope you like it. If I screwed it up, let me know.
