LET IT OUT
LET IT OUT
Self understanding remains my goal
With no part greater than the whole
Yet somewhere within the anger lies
It can’t escape, yet so hard it tries
I’ve tried looking deep into my soul
And see it is in there, black like coal
Such an encounter is a surprise
It can’t escape, yet so hard it tries
Yet now it is playing a different role
As if to be released it can pay a toll
It’ll be making my temperature rise
It can’t escape, yet so hard it tries
It reaches up, almost out of control
And bereft of any virtues to extol
Unlike before, in a different disguise
It can’t escape, yet so hard it tries
Trying hard to breach my protocol
If freed, it’ll leave a gaping hole
But you still can see it in my eyes
It can’t escape, yet so hard it tries
