Let Go

Do not hold on to me I beg you
For that can never be the way
People swirl by in our lives
Like a bottle bobbing in the bay
The rivers of fate flow by
To bring us new things each day
The loves and hurts of seasons
As the tide ebbs and falls

So I ask you to just enjoy me
As you find me here today
 To not grieve me tomorrow
As from you I go away

I am me through and through
Though at times I am bright,
Like the stars on a summers night
I'm at times nothin but blue
As beat as a worn out shoe
Just accept me as I am
A mere child of the ram

Soon one day paths may cross
 An adventure to start anew
 Or perhaps not for
Some things, just aren't meant to be
Life is a road, completely skew
Hiding the future from our view

So celebrate me now is all I ask
For nothing is certain for sure
 A not so difficult task
 Whether I'm rich or poor
I'll love you and Ill miss you
But u must let me go
 For time always passes
 And changes all from before

And I'll enjoy you for you
 Just today
 But who knows tomorrow
 Who's to say
May just bring u back again :)
