Let Freedom Ring

We take what we have for granted, not realizing the mighty cost.
The ones that gave their lives, so freedom would not be lost.

Some lost their sight, while some were crippled and maimed,
Some were treated as heroes while others experienced criticism and were shamed.

Our American way of life has not come cheap,
But most that have experienced battle would say it was worth it so you can rest your
peaceful sleep.

If the United States did not show her might,
Our shores would be invaded and we’d be in for one hell of a fight.

To the ones that have stood beside us in these perilous days,
You deserve our support regardless of what others may say.

And to the ones that have tried us and went against our grain,
You best back off, before we loose our Eagle and you feel her power and  you understand
the meaning of let freedom reign.

I think it is time we quit trying to take on everyone else’s problems till we can solve
our own,
Very few show us respect, burning our flag and effigies of our president is the kind
they’ve shown.

When hurricane Katrina hit, how many foreign countries sent us aide,
I think it’s time we start supporting Americans, forget foreign trade.

We still have the greatest country in the world and I’d like to see it stay that way,
It’s blood that has bought our freedom and it’s God who we need to lead us today.
