Let Forgotten Memories Unfold Themselves

What did I find in a dusty and faded treasure chest
that preserved forgotten memories put to rest?
Watches and rings, bracelets and Valentine hearts....
those never given to lovers who yearned for red lips!

Many other items were hidden into that treasure chest:
pictures of Grandpa and Grandma, a long letter
my uncle Felix wrote to a mysterious lover
he met before going off to war, but that letter was never mailed...
why did he leave it behind...was it forgetfulness or haste?
And that made me wonder if doubt was the reason he hesitated?

For a brief moment, forget your reality...worries and dreams;
lay back on your coach as if watching a classic movie you saw many times,
let forgotten memories unfold themselves as distant gleams
turning into sunrise when splendor transforms dull clouds into shiny ones!

half the fun of treasure chests is discovering what is inside them and trying to figure out the worth...sounds like a lovely chest full of memories...congrats on your win :)
