Lest Time Races Away
If I have the time I would stall lest it races away
to the ordained hour of destiny set by the unseen.
All the lost battles I’ll fight once again to win,
invent a sunburst horizon in the sky gone grey.
All the promises I gave you I couldn’t keep ever,
the deceptive image of me with you got deformed.
In the residual time I’ll make them anew, reformed,
try to tell you what remained unsaid, I won’t waver.
For those crumbled in the debris of fallen dark sky
I’ll be a candle to light up the trail lost in obscurity,
so they can take the designed journey with certainty
to the promised destination in the wake of butterfly.
When all the songbirds disappear in the remote skies,
the last melody I’ll compose, sing the swan song of life.
When the broken dreams burn in the blaze of strife,
if I have the time, like the Phoenix from the ashes I’ll rise.
