Less Human

What if my ears were deaf to music
And I was born without fingers,
Would it make me any less human?

What if I eat of the streets
And have no place to lay my head,
Would it make me any less human?

What if I was born away from home
And have no one to call my own,
Would it make me any less human?

What if I had no rover, but only legs
To range over lands,
Would it make me any less human?

What if I never make profit
And poverty wears me like a skirt,
Would it make me any less human?
