Lense Illusions

I looked at snapshots
From a bygone day
Were things as great
As people like to say

Everything picture perfect
Clothing and smile
Captured by the camera
These pictures in my pile

There is my old self
With a knowing look
The memories flood back
Like pages from a book

As I keep flipping
My tears make me shake
Taking this look back
What a huge mistake

So back in the box
To the rear of the shelf
Hidden but not forgotten
Still a part of myself

'They' say a picture is worth a thousand words... with your words, you've captured the worth of a thousand pictures... very nice... Terry

We evolve because of our history.....the good and the bad, easy and the hard, happy and the sad times........its all important and very much part of thyself :) Enjoyed your poem Richard very much - Shaz

Yes, I completely agree. I have no regrets, all the pain from the past furnishes us with incredible gifts that we otherwise may never have received. I really appreciate you spending so much time here reading my poems.
