Legends Live

The fleeting shadows of yesteryear
Chase today’s fog making my head clear
I see your faces so fresh and young
As we plod our road together everyone

Laughter and smiles were always near
As well as comradeship over a schooner of beer
I was proud to call you my friend
To back each other and not pretend

Now it seems old legs won’t travel well
And old stories nudge us and our hearts do swell
It’s for old times and a clinch of glass
Reminiscing and hearing the drum beat without repast.
